The orientation program for the newly enrolled students of the Spring 2025 semester (32nd batch) of Z. H. Sikder University of Science and Technology was held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM on the university campus.
The event was chaired by the Student Wellbeing Advisor, Mr. Sonet Kumar Saha, and the honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Talukder Md. Lokman Hakim, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The program started with recitations from the Holy Quran and the Bhagavad Gita, followed by speeches where both new and current students shared their experiences and sentiments. The newly admitted students were warmly welcomed with flowers and gifts, presented by the Vice-Chancellor.
In his keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the significance of the university phase in a student’s life. He remarked, “University life is the most critical chapter in your education, and today marks the beginning of your journey here. From now on, your identity is tied to this institution. To adapt to the challenges of creating sustainable global change, you must enhance your communication skills, stay updated on modern technologies, and strengthen your command of English so that you can do good for the betterment of people and country in future. .I wish you all a successful and rewarding journey at this university.”
The event also witnessed the presence of other distinguished guests, including the honorable Treasurer, Professor Abdul Khaleque; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Muhd. Mustafizur Rahman; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Md. Mahmud Alam; Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Mr. Shahidur Rahman Khan ; Acting Controller of Examinations, Mr. Mizanuzzaman; Deputy Registrar, Ms. Khandaker Tahmina Nishad Alin; Proctor, Mr. Imamunur Rahman; as well as faculty members, staff, and students from seven departments.http://www.sangbadsarakhon.com
The program concluded with a closing speech by Mr. Sonet Kumar Saha, who expressed his best wishes to the students for a fruitful academic journey. The event was moderated by Mr. Md. Saifuz Zaman, Lecturer in the Department of Law, and Ms. Rokaiya Akter Jemy , Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration. The orientation ceremony set a positive tone for the new students as they embark on their academic journey at Z. H. Sikder University of Science and Technology.
